Bio

J. D. Sauers, highly respected and well known merchant of Sarona for 35 years, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday evening, Oct. 15, 1938. He had just returned from a hunting trip that afternoon and after having eaten a hearty supper, he was stricken with a heart attack which caused his death a few hours later. Mr. Sauers is survived by his wife, son, Wilfred and daughters, Mrs. Sam Parker, Rice Lake; Mrs. Nick Masterjohn, Spooner; Mrs. Conrad Fourtney, Fargo, ND; Miss Marie Sauers, Miami, FL and Miss Genevieve Sauers, Sarona. The community and county in general mourn his loss and death which came without warning was a shock to all who knew him. He had always enjoyed a robust health and had been active in business steadily for many years. Note: husband of Mary H. Yechout (1884-1970) Sauers Interment in the Sarona cemetery.
