Virgie Alice Gay Keene As appeared in The West Carroll Gazette , Oak Grove, Louisiana, Thursday, March 2, 1944: Funeral Services Held for Mrs. Keene Funeral services were held for Mrs. Clarence Keene, 36, of Hill community, Friday in the Eudora, Arkansas, cemetery with the Reverend H. L. Cheatham, Baptist pastor there, officiating. She died the preceding Wednesday, after a long illness. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Louise and Marie Keene, and two sons, Howard and Cecil Keene. Funeral and burial arrangements were under the direction of Catron-Golden Funeral Home. ________________________________________ Vergie Gay married William Clarence Keene about 1925. He was born July 23, 1896, in Louisiana to Andrew C. and Amanda Jane Boyt Keene, and he died in Benton, Saline County, Arkansas, in 1954.
