Bio

B-26B Marauder #42-95942 took off at 00:45 from an airfield near Marrakech, French Morocco, for a flight to Cornwall, England. For reasons unknown, the medium bomber went down in the ocean off Ploubazlanec, France. What happened to the crew is unknow. All four airmen aboard died. The bodies were found in a dinghy on a beach between Paimpol and the tip of Bilfot on February 20, 1944. The circumstances are unknown. The personnel killed and missing were: 1LT William R Roddy , O-666826, TX, Pilot 2LT Vernon D. Barber , O-691079, NE, Co-Pilot 2LT Henry C Barnett , O-797237, KY, Navigator TSGT Vincent Harvey , 11052503, MA, Radio Operator William Roddy was an Austin police officer from Sep. 1940 until 08 Dec. 1941 when he resigned to join the U.S. Army Air Corps.
