Obituaries: Allen Caver Jones, 1937, Winn Parish, LA From: May 13, 1937 Winn Parish Enterprise Death Claims Allen Jones of Cypress Creek Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Allen Carver Jones, 78 years of age, who died at his home in the Cypress Creek Community, Winn Parish, Louisiana, on May 12, 1937 at 02:00 o'clock following a lengthy illness with high blood pressure. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. R. B. Kitchingham of Gansville, LA, who was assisted by Rev. D. Sherwood of Winnfield, LA. Interment was in the Cypress Creek Cemetery. He had been a member of the Baptist Church for the past 56 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Mixon Jones and six sons and daughters, Sherwood D Jones of Mineola, Texas, Curtis A. Jones of Sikes, Dallas C Jones and Gilbert Jones of Cypress Creek Community, Miss Pearl Jones of Dequincy, Louisiana, and Mrs. Bernice Jones Shows of Quitman, Louisiana. Eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. John Hearn of Chatham, Louisiana, also survive. Allen Caver Jones' father's full name is Allen Hunter Jones (Added 10-25-2015).
