Bio
The matriarch of her family, Evelyn Patterson, left us on May 31, 2024, at 100 years young following a brief illness. Evelyn Vrbka was born on March 22, 1924, in Rising City, Nebraska, to Joseph Vrbka and Tillie Sedlak Vrbka. She was the oldest child and had 6 younger brothers. Evelyn married Bert Patterson on April 12, 1947, and served as a dedicated Air Force Officer's wife until Bert's death in 2005. Evelyn and Bert are survived by their two daughters, Patricia (Gary) Nickle of Lenexa, Kansas, and Diane (David) Gustafson of Fort Collins, Colorado. Evelyn is also survived by five beloved Grandchildren, nine Great Grandchildren, and was so proud to welcome a Great, Great Granddaughter into the world. Evelyn was preceded in death by brothers Ray, Leonard, Donald and LaVerne, and cherished her surviving brothers Bob (Dottie) Vrbka and Gary (Candy) Vrbka.
