Social Security records list parents as John J. May and Anna Kahlig. She was a sister of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, who celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 1991. She was survived by a sister, Mrs. Henry Rohmfeld of Kingsville; and two brothers, Raymond May of Portland and Lawrence May of Laredo ("Corpus Christi Caller-Times," January 16, 1994).
