Bio
Nell graduated from Radford College in 1948 and moved to Wise, VA to begin her teaching career of 30 years. It was there that she met and married her loving husband, Morton Asbury, and they raised three children together. Beyond her teaching career, Nell found joy in cooking for her family and many others, tending to her flower gardens, talking on the phone to her many friends, and working puzzles. She was a "social butterfly". Nell was a member of the Wise Trinity United Methodist Church, where she loved cooking for the pot luck dinners and feeding the congregation. Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Morton Asbury; son, John Asbury; parents, Wilson and Maxie Holbrook and siblings, Betty Woodard and Bill Holbrook.
