Bio
Barbara Ann Zaidle, 83, went to be with our Lord Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Decatur. Service will be held Saturday, February 17th, at 2 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with graveside to follow at Boonsville Cemetery. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Barbara was born November 29, 1940, to Joseph and Eula Faye (Gose) Russell in Alvord, Texas. She was first united in marriage to Doyle Goodwin on December 22, 1956, in Fort Worth, with whom she had her first four children, and she later remarried Donald Zaidle on January 19, 1979, in Parker County, with whom she spent 34 years before his passing in 2013. A 30-year member of The Church in Peaster and numerous other congregations before that, Barbara dedicated her life to pointing others to Christ. She took in and raised numerous children, loving them as her own, and volunteered weekly at the Center of Hope in Weatherford, providing meals to those in need. She was also an avid florist and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers, Sonny, Jimmy and Bobby Russell; and two sisters, Reba Walls and Carolyn Simon.
