Michael "Mike" B. Frederick, 66, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Mike was born April 27, 1957, in Darmstadt Germany, the son of Charles and Lore (Bröll) Frederick. He graduated from Tower Hill High School with the class of 1975. Mike obtained an associate degree in liberal studies from Black Hawk College in 1991. Mike was survived by a son, Michael (Alyssa) Washburn, Kewanee; grandson, Bradyn Washburn; two sisters, Edna (Donny) Reber, West Point, IN, Arlene Rickett, Tower Hill, IL; brother-in-law, Mark Bircher, Peoria, IL; nieces and nephews, Brandon (Lura) Frederick, Murphysboro, IL, Brad Rickett, Tower Hill, IL, Jared (Laura) Mashburn, Wingate, IN, Lore (Adam) Wilson, Pana, IL; great nieces and nephews, Ian Rickett, Phoenix Mashburn, Branaya Frederick, Legacy Ballew, Simon Rickett, Reign Ballew, Calliope Ballew, Marvin Rickett; best friend and boss, Brian (Becky) Burcham and their family; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Warren Frederick. Mike worked as a shop superintendent for All Service Contracting in Decatur, IL. Mike was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish Polish National Catholic Church, Kewanee. Mike was a jokester and loved telling jokes all over the world. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, woodworking and antiquing. Mike owned an antique shop in Elkhart, IL. He was an avid book reader. Mike loved children and made friends wherever he went. Anytime anyone needed anything he would drop everything to be there for them. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:30 am, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Polish National Catholic Church. Father John Cramer will officiate. A private burial will be in Latham Cemetery, Elkhart, IL.
