Vanek, 74, of Weston, NE, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Lincoln, NE. Bob was born May 23, 1949 in Wahoo to Robert A. and Martha (Pospisil) Vanek. He graduated from Weston Public High School. He enlisted in the Army National Guard from which he later retired. Bob married Frances Varriano on July 8, 1972 at St. John's Catholic Church in Prague. He was employed at Mid-Continent Bottlers in Lincoln. Bob was a member of the Weston American Legion Post 308 and he was a member of the Weston Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed deejaying and catering events for family and friends. Bob enjoyed hay rack rides and spending time with his family. Taking care of his grandkids and spoiling them was the highlight of his life. He also spoiled his granddogs and loved sneaking them extra treats! You could always find him chatting with friends and lending a helping hand. Bob is survived by his wife Frances, children and grandchildren: Michele, Mark, Matthew and Madison Reising; Stefanie, Tim, Ben, Eli and Caleb Chvatal; Ryan, Linda, Tyler, Alyssa and Brady Vanek; Andy, Whitney, Parker, Reed and Cooper Vanek. Bob is also survived by brothers and sister Norma Tweedy, Tom Vanek, Gordy (Kendra) Vanek, Randy (Gina) Vanek, and sister-in-law Mary Vanek. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Dwayne Vanek, and brother-in-law Richard Tweedy.
