Bio

Dennis Artieschoufsky, 75, of Taylor passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 after a long illness. Dennis was born on August 5th, 1948, in Georgetown, Texas to Adolph and Minnie Artieschoufsky. He joined the US Naval Reserve (2 years active and 4 years reserve) in October 1966. He was stationed aboard the USS Kalmia based in San Diago, California. His ship took supplies up and down the West Coast to the Panama Canal. He was honorably discharged in October1972. On May 5th, 1967, he married the love of his life, Martha Ohlson, who lived across the street from him. They were married at Tenth Street United Methodist Church in Taylor, Texas. In August of 1970 his first daughter Penny was born, followed by Robyn in August of 1972, and Misty in January of 1977. Dennis loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. In later years he loved his Honey Buns and scratch-offs. He had a strong love and talent for woodworking. In the eighties he started his own custom cabinet business, Dayco. He was a master of his craft. At one point almost everyone in the family worked for him. In 1990, Misty started working full-time for him, and Robyn joined them later. He taught them well. Everyone loved Dennis and he was hell when he was well. He was a calm and laid-back person with a sharp mind and quick wit. His pride and joy were his five grandkids: Trinity, Cody, Hunter, Abby, and McKenzie. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph, and Minnie Artieschoufsky; his father and mother- in -law, Berhl and Helen Ohlson; his sisters, Shirley Artieschoufsky, Jeanette Randig, and Betty Domel.
