RAYMOND FRANK GALETKA was a trusted servant of his community, Ore City TX and East Texas the last 38 years. His work and servanthood in AA touched so many. ONE DAY AT A TIME, he taught those close to him to LET GO AND LET GOD. He was brought up in the Catholic faith near his birthplace (Crisp TX) in Ennis TX at St. John Parish. His mom, Angeline Galetka, was an angel on earth. She had him later in life at the age of 42. His dad, Josef "Joe" Galetka was a hard worker, so characteristic of those Czechs that immigrated from the early 1900s coming over on ships landing in Galveston TX. Joe from Bratrejov and Angeline from Village Schradice, Moravia (now called historical Czech Republic). Ray, as his friends called him, was 2nd generation American, as his parents were very young when they landed in the US. He was brought up "old world". His mom Angeline baked fresh bread daily up into her 90's. Fresh homemade noodle soup, farm-raised vegetables & meat, kolaches and strudel were a staple for Ray growing up. He had a brother, Milton Galetka, who served in the Korean war, and four sisters: Emily Galetka Novy, Agnes Galetka Kriska, Mary Galetka Slovacek and Alice Galetka Skrivanek (all deceased) who married and gave Ray plenty of nieces and nephews! Ray married Edna Jo "Jo" Williams early in life and started his family in East Dallas. He worked as a line foreman for quality and control for Rolls Royce, Boeing & Pratt & Whitney at Dallas Airmotive/ Aviall at Love Field for 25 years. Then, retired to the beautiful Lake O' the Pines and enjoyed fishing and mechanic work for the Ore City area after the death of his wife Jo Galetka. He enjoyed time with his daughters Rae Nell Galetka and Kimberly Ledford in East Texas along with his friends, family and friends of Bill W. He traveled all over East TX as area AA representative and held the Treasurer office for his Ore City group for over 15 years. Raymond was a trustworthy, loving, kind-hearted, service oriented, spiritual and diligent person. Preceded in death: His wife Jo Williams Galetka, his daughter Rae Nell Galetka Mounts, his brother Milton, his sisters Emily, Agnes, Mary and Alice. His brothers in-law, Frank Novy, Stanley Kriska, Ed Slovacek and John Skrivanek. His nephews RE "Little Raymond" Slovacek and Eugene Novy.
