Emilie (Millie) Elbert, 91, passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by her family and friends. She was the Krajca family matriarch/historian and was deeply loved by everyone. Emilie was born on April 2, 1933 in Ennis, Texas to Mary Pavlacka and Joseph F. Krajca. She was baptized and attended St. John Catholic Church and School, Ennis, Texas and moved to Dallas, Texas when she married Emil R. Horak on June 30, 1951. She dedicated 20 years to Lucent Technologies, Mesquite, Texas until she retired in 1993. She was a member of the SPJST Lodge 84 and KJZT Ennis. Emilie found joy in anything that was family related such as birthday parties, holiday parties, and any family gathering. She truly enjoyed Sunday brunches with her children and grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, walking, playing bingo and especially talking with people and getting to know everyone. She never met a stranger. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil R. Horak, in 1975 and second husband, James Elbert, married 1979 and died 1995; along with parents, Mary and Joseph Krajca; baby sister, Beatrice Krajca, brothers/sisters and their spouses: Adele & Joe Krajca, Mary & Eddie Dlabaj, Geraldine and Joe Laza, Caroline & Norbert Krajca, Olga and George Janicek and sister-in-law, Shirley Krajca. Visitation: Thursday, April 11, 2024 6:00 pm to 8:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 to 7:30 J.E.
