Marie Lillian Prachyl, 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Marie was born in Ennis, Texas, on September 8, 1930, to Czech farming immigrants Leslie and Antonie Valek Spaniel. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John's Catholic High School in 1948. On August 4, 1951, she married the love of her life, Anthony Prachyl, and they made their home in Ennis, Texas. Marie was a devoted catholic wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marie was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJT, and KJZT. You could find Marie outside enjoying nature most of the time, especially gardening and mowing. Marie was also an excellent cook and loved to share her recipes with her family and friends. Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and will be followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
