Henry Druesdow, 83, of Taylor, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Condra Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Henry Druesdow, 83, a lifetime resident of Taylor passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Johns Community Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1926 in Taylor, the son of William and Johanna (Dornbush) Druesdow. On August 19, 1972 he married Nora Berg. Henry was a maintenance worker for TXDOT Highway department for 28 + years. He was a member of Northview Christian Church. When someone would ask Henry how he was doing, he would always respond, "I'm still kicking, but not very high." Henry loved to fish and cut grass. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lillian; son, Jody; brother, Carl Druesdow; and four sisters, Edna Shamard, Greta Smith, Annie Kopecky and Mary Kruse. Henry is survived by his wife, Nora Druesdow of Taylor; two daughters, Vickie McDaniel and husband Donald of Thorndale and Cynthia Druesdow of Bastrop; son, Gordon Druesdow and wife Laura of Thrall; two step-sons, Larry Shamard and wife Amy of Taylor and Otis Harvey and wife Linda of San Antonio; two step-daughters, Debbie Grieger and husband Vernon of Georgetown and Noamia Benefield and husband Roy of Athens; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice McCoury of Lampasas and Elsie Porter and husband Jim of Salado. Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Kruse, William Kruse, Timothy Kruse, Marvin Kruse, Clifford Shamard, David Porter and Butch Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Daryl Druesdow, Colby Hilton, and Joshua Shamard. * * * * Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. at Condra Memorial Chapel Home with Rev. Bill Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor City Cemetery. His first wife died from a brain tumor, so her baby was taken by cesarean, {28 week gestation}.
