Rex Crosswhite of Celina, Texas passed away on March 25, 2009 from natural causes. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, son, friend and neighbor. A lifelong farmer and rancher in the North Texas area, Rex had a natural gift for nurturing cattle and the auction. His passion was always the land; however he began his career in the Navy and served his country during World War II, returning home a veteran. He then joined Southwestern Bell and retired after 35 years. He was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge. Rex will be remembered as a true friend and gentleman. Born April 11, 1926 in Weston, Texas. He is survived by his only son Lloyd Rex Crosswhite and wife Mary of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia Crosswhite of Arlington, Texas, Sean P. Sweeney and wife Justine of Frisco, Texas; great-granddaughter, Emma Sweeney; five nephews, one niece and loving extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents Abbey and Ira Crosswhite of Celina, Texas; brother, Lloyd Glen Crosswhite; sister, Wanda Crosswhite Leach; and beloved wife, Ruby Jeffus Crosswhite. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 27, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 112 N. Colorado Street in Celina, Texas, with Pastor Jodi Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, March 26, 2009 beginning at 6 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina.
