Elizabeth Jane Vaughan, resident of Broken Arrow, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the age of 91. She was born January 15, 1926 in Corinth, Denton County, Texas to Mardie Everett and Florence Allen (Hendrix) Crout. Elizabeth was raised and received her education in Denton, Texas graduating school there. She later attended North Texas State College. In 1946, she married Gaylon D. Vaughan in Denton. Due to his work with the railroad, they resided in various locations till buying a farm at Whitesboro, Texas. Her husband, Gaylon, preceded her in death in 1984. Elizabeth moved to Broken Arrow in 2004. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Patricia Pat Murray; two grandchildren Darrell Murray and Holly Freeman, both of Broken Arrow; five great grandchildren Michelle Murray, Denise Murray, Brooke Murray, Dustin Bennett, Taylor Smith husband Rodney and two great-great-grandchildren, Chace Murray and Dessa Smith. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Elizabeth was preceded by her parents, one brother and one sister. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the chapel of St. Anne Catholic Church of Broken Arrow with Deacon Tom Moyes officiating. Elizabeth's cremains will be placed in the Swisher Cemetery, Lake Dallas, Texas at a later date. The family entrusted arrangements and services to the Christian-Gavlik Funeral Home of Broken Arrow.
