Bio
Joyce Whisnant Parker entered into her heavenly reward on April 1, 2024, at Brayden Park Assisted Living and Memory Care in San Angelo, Texas. She passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 86. Joyce was born on December 27, 1937, to Robert Roosevelt Whisnant and Ollie Mae Rhamy Whisnant in Culp, Arkansas. She worked in management and as the purchasing agent for the Inn of the Golden West. Joyce attended church at Bethel Assembly of God in Odessa, Texas until she entered Brayden Park. She supported the churches she attended in many ways. She was the Women's Ministry Leader and taught Sunday school for the children. She was always helping in any way she could. She was loved by friends and family who attended many events at her house where fun was had by all and many memories created. Joyce is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert Roosevelt Whisnant and Ollie Mae Rhemy Whisnant; siblings, Evelyn, Dorothy, Alva, Jean, and Gerry; husband, and love of her life Jimmy Dean Parker. She is survived by daughters, Teri Shull and husband Nelson of Tyler, Texas, Shana Sue Parker of Odessa, Texas; and son, David Kent Parker of Odessa; grandchildren, James Goulden, Tanaia Shull, Nikki Boyd, and Amy Harris; 11 great grandchildren; And soon to be 3 great-great grandchildren. Visitation is Monday, April 8th, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, at Bethel Assembly of God in Odessa, Texas at 11:00 AM with a burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 12:30 April 9th.
