Bio

William "Billy" Roessler, 87, of Temple, died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at a Temple Nursing Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. April 2, 2024 in the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia. Rev. Darrell Kostiha will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. Mr. Roessler was born on May 14, 1936 in Westphalia to Martin and Helen Fuchs Roessler. He graduated from Lott High School and served in the National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a farmer and enjoyed working at the annual Westphalia picnic. He helped set up the nativity scene at the Church of the Visitation for many years. He was preceded in death by his brother Lee Roessler. He is survived by one brother, Maxie Roessler of Temple, one niece, Becky Roessler of Temple, one nephew, Jason Roessler of Salado, great niece and nephew, Julia Zavodny and Christopher Zavodny. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Visitation. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Church of the Visitation.
