Bonham Daily Favorite, Bonham, Texas, Sunday, January 24, 1960, Page 4 G. P. Ellison Dies; Rites Sunday P.M. SAVOY (Spl.) - George Porter Ellison, 89, a retired farmer, died in a Bonham hospital at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, following a brief illness. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday in Wise Funeral home chapel in Bonham. Interment will be in Sunnyside cemetery at Savoy. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Zula Ellison of the home address in Savoy; two sons, M. J. Ellison of Bonham and Murnie Ellison of Yreka, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Vennie Clevenger of Fort Worth; one brother, Plez Ellison of Caddo, Okla.; a sister, Miss Eva Ellison of Wichita Falls; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Born March 1, 1870, in Kentucky, Mr. Ellison came to Texas with his parents in 1882. He was married to Miss Lou Ella Ward Dec. 9, 1894, and she died in 1916. In 1919 he married Miss Zula Stapleton and they have made their home in and around Savoy since then. He was a member of the First Methodist church in Savoy.
