Graveside services for Dorothy R. Bell, 87, Mount Vernon, mother of a Tyler resident, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Julian officiating under direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home, Mount Vernon. Mrs. Bell died May 7, 2008, at a Mount Vernon nursing home. She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Muskogee, Okla., to the late J. Lucian Dodson and Ida M. Routh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Bell. Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Doherty, Tyler; son, Marty Bell, Mount Vernon; sister, Helen Smith, Muskogee, Okla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Published in the Tyler Morning Telegraph on 5/8/2008.
