OBITUARY: Ruth Laverne Chrestman, 94, of Pittsboro, MS died on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at her daughter's residence in Pittsboro, MS. Born Thursday, June 15, 1922 in Pittsboro, She was the daughter of the late Clarence Walker Moorman and the late Vara Thelma Lowe Moorman. She was the wife of the late Lealon Egbert Chrestman. She was a former Secretary for the Supt. of Education in Calhoun County, MS Schools for 24 years and a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church, where she was a nursery attendant for over 30 years. Surviving are a daughter, Shelia Winter and husband Larry of Pittsboro, MS; 2 granddaughters, Tiffany Winter Clarke and husband Allan and Niki Winter Necaise and husband Darrye, all of Pittsboro; 4 great-grandchildren, Cameron Clarke, Cambry Clarke, Cane Necaise and Coby Necaise. She had the following special caregivers that were there for her needs; Emily Bullard,, Sarah Moore, and Debra Powell. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a sister, Loretta "Bootsie" James, and a great grandson, Colbin Necaise. A funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Interment will be in Pittsboro Cemetery in Pittsboro, MS. Pallbearers will be Allan Clarke, Cameron Clarke, C. C. Clarke, Hilly Griffin, Tony Hardin, Jerry James, Larry Joe James, Bill Malone, Cane Necaise, Coby Necaise and Darrye Necaise. Honorary Pallbearers are Pittsboro Baptist Church deacons, Fred Bullard, Gayle Bullard, John Crump, Phil Hamilton, and Van Russell. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 21, 2016, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. Memorial contributions may be made to the following, Colbin Necaise Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1573, Calhoun City, MS, 38916, or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
