Bio

Ralph Fritz Brockhoff, 89, of Syracuse passed away on March 13, 2024 at home in Syracuse, NE. Born on August 31, 1934 in Elmwood, NE to Herman E and Letha S. (Knoop) Brockhoff. He was baptized September 23, 1934 at First Lutheran By Pastor Bergstesser. He was confirmed April 27, 1947 at First Lutheran by Pastor Bergstrasser. Ralph graduated from Elmwood High School in May of 1951. During his High school years he enjoyed Football and Basketball. After High School, he farmed with his dad and brothers Ervin and Norman. He joined the Army in 1957 and served in Germany until 1959, then the reserves until 1963. Returning home he farmed until his retirement in 2006. On October 1, 1961 he married Linda K Fallers to this union 3 sons were born Mark, Steve and Brian. He and Linda made their home west of Elmwood until 1967 when they moved east of Elmwood to his Grandparents Farm where they lived until May of 2023 when they moved to Syracuse. They were awarded the 100 year farm from Aksarben. He was a life time member of First Lutheran (North Branch) serving on the church board along with many other committees and church offices, also a member of American Legion Syracuse, Avoca Lion Club. Ralph served on the Farmers Coop and Farmers Coop Elevator Board both of Elmwood. He was a past member of Nebraska Coop Council. Preceded in death by parents Letha and Herman Brockhoff; brothers Ervin and Norman Brockhoff. Ralph leaves spouse Linda K Brockhoff; Children Mark (Julie), Steve (Leona), Brian (Paula) Brockhoff; 5 Granddaughters, 3 Grandsons, 11 Great Grandchildren, Sister-in-law Joann Brockhoff, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to First Lutheran Church and/or North Branch Cemetery or/ the family for later designation A memorial service was held Friday, March 22nd at 10:30 am with Rev Adam Klinker officiating. Visitation was Thursday 4-8 pm with family greeting friends 6-8 pm all at First Lutheran Avoca.
