Venice Cynthia Smith Gries, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 92, died peacefully, Dec 15, 1997 in Titusville, FL. Born Jan 30, 1905 in Garland, Utah, to Lorenza and Pollie Alice Grover Smith. Married Millen H. Kirham, Feb 1921; later divorced. Married Edward J. Giles, May 17, 1937. He passed away October 8, 1983. She had lived in Garland, UT; Lehi, UT; NV; Grand Jct. CO; Bountiful, UT; Titusville, FL. Was a life-long active member of the LDS Church, having served in many ward and stake callings in music, etc. Enjoyed playing the piano, her flower gardens, knitting and crocheting and making many gifts for family and friends. Worked as a nurse for many years and always served others in many ways. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded In death by husband, all brothers and sisters, one son and one daughter. Survivors*: daughter and husband; son and wife; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services Sat., Dec 27, 1997, 3 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., where friends may call from 2-2:45 p.m. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
