Bio
The Santiam News June 2, 1899 Of Local Interest J. L. Miller died in this city Tuesday morning at the advanced age of 66 years. for the past two years he had made his home at Scio hotel, and during that time it was necessary to keep a nurse with him constantly. He came to Scio in 1875 and has since made his home here. His wife died in 1877. He leaves three sons and one daughter, besides a sister who lives in Douglas County to mourn his death. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock Wednesday the services being conducted by W. W. Richardson and the remains were laid to rest in the Masonic Cemetery.
