Joyce D. Puckett August 23, 1947 - February 27, 2024 McWhorter Funeral Home Funeral services for Joyce Diane Puckett, 76, of Gilmer, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 3, 2024, in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Pete Richardson officiating. Interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Saturday. Joyce was born on August 23, 1947, in Gilmer, Texas to Arlis and Myrtis Thomas Blalack and passed from this life on February 27, 2024, surrounded by her family in Longview, Texas. Joyce married Odell Puckett on September 16, 1966. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Joyce was also a member of Woodland Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Odell Puckett; sons Matt Puckett (Sarah) and Brian Puckett (Stephanie); grandchildren, Brock Puckett, Drew Puckett, Colton Puckett, Brianna Puckett, and Caton Puckett. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arlis and Myrtis; brothers Bill and Cliff Blalack; and sister, Esther Mae Knight. Pallbearers will be Drew Puckett, Taft Thomas, David Blalack, Conner LeGrand, Eli Lovely, and Dwight Day.
