Bio

Richard Santos joined the Heavenly Father on February 21, 2024. A lifelong Ennis resident, he was born August 4, 1946 in Palmer, Texas to Ester and James Santos Sr. Richard graduated Ennis High School in 1964 before proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps from September 3oth, 1965 until his honorable discharge on September 19th, 1971. A devoted husband and loving father, Richard married the love of his life, Lupe, and the couple shared three children – Rebecca, Gilbert, and Jeffrey – seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and 59 love filled years together. Richard enjoyed living the American Dream. He made his living as a printer for many years. A Lion4Life, he loved Ennis Football and delighted in watching his grandson Dyllan play for their home team. Richard was a true fisherman who loved hunting and spending time outdoors. His two favorite places to be were at the lake, and in his deer stand. Richard was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church. He leaves a legacy of patriotic love for his country and unwavering devotion to his family that will be felt for many generations to come. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death his father James Santos Sr.; mother Ester Santos; brothers Sammy Santos and Gilbert Santos.Visitation will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 4pm until 6pm, with rosary at 6pm, at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis, Texas. Funeral service will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church in Ennis, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
