Bio

FRED W.NORTHRUP, 95, of Sunbright, Tennessee, passed away June 27, 2002. Funeral services were conducted June 28 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg, TN, with the Rev. Luther Massengill officiating. A graveside service was held June 29 at Pleasant Ridge Church Cemetery. Mr. Northrup was born April 29, 1907, in Morgan County, TN, the son of Walter Norm and Sylvia F. Northrup. Survivors include his sisters, Addie Voiles and Velva Johnson, both of Dayton, OH; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Helen Northrup of Mississippi, Thomas and Caroline Northrup of Kentucky, and Vaughn Northrup of Sunbright; daughters and sons-in-law, Altheiah and Dennis Ray Jones of Deer Lodge, Judy and Phill Shannon, and Robbie Stewart, all of Sunbright, and Doris Sue Hughes of Ohio; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends; and special friend, Jack Brown of Sunbright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flarce Northrup; brothers, Melvin, Leonard, Osley, Sam, Virgil, Walter and Kenneth; sisters, Rosa, Mary, Gertie and Dorothy; sons, J.B. and Billy; and daughter, Ila Mae McLin.
