Funeral services for Fred E. Mahaffey were at 11 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2008 in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Mittie with the Rev. Brent Maxwell officiating. Committal services followed in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Mr. Mahaffey, 45, of Fairview, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 25, 2008 in Fairfiew. He was born on May 1, 1962 in Kinder to the union of Kenneth Clea Mahaffey and Mona Rheams Mahaffey. He was Baptist by faith and a electrician. He also was a loving husband, son, father, brother, and grandfather. His father, Kenneth Clea Mahaffey; one brother, Kevin Mahaffey and one sister, Susan Goleman precedes him in death. He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his wife, Lorinda Gail Agee Mahaffey of Fairview; mother, Mona Rheams Mahaffey of Livingston, Texas; one son, Kenneth Emery Mahaffey and wife Monica of Sugartown; one daughter, Kelly Chantelle Martin and husband Joseph of Fairview; three brothers, Jack Mahaffey of Toledo Bend, Scooter Mahaffey of Fairview and Corkey Mahaffey of Gonzales; four sisters, Cathy Johnson of Livingston, Texas, Sharon Jeans of Onalaska, Texas, Wendy Childress of Livingston, Texas and Debbie Robinson of Hineston; and three grandchildren, Nick Mahaffey, Gavin Martin and Emery Martin. Pallbearers will be Jason Ford, T.J. Goleman, Joey Oquinn, Shannon Mahaffey, Mitch Mahaffey, and Johnny Ford.
