Husband: George T. Holmes Mrs. Holmes Dies, Rites Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Holmes, 84, will be held at 10 am Wednesday in Faith Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, with Rev. Arthur J. Slay, officiating. He will be assisted by Dusty Hill, a grandson of Mrs. Holmes. Interment will be at Rock Church Cemetery at Paluxy, in Hood County, Texas. Mrs. Holmes, a former Childress County resident, died Monday in a Wichita Falls nursing home. She was born April 1, 1889 in Hood County, and had resided in Wichita Falls for the past 10 years. Survivors include 10 daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hill, Mrs. Pauline Penn, Mrs. Ann Crawford, Mrs. Jackie Lancaster and Mrs. Maxine Stonecipher, all of Wichita Falls; Mrs. Beulah Shipley of Odessa, Mrs. Winnie Hudlow of Estelline, Mrs. Ruby Arnold of Lubbock, Mrs. Jessie Mae Baker of Brownfield, and Mrs. Billie Quisenberry of Plainview; one son, George Thomas Holmes of Plainview; 39 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
