Bio
Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and the love of his life of 65 years LaVon on December 19, 2020 in Sandy, Utah at the age of 87. He was born September 23, 1933 in Midvale, Utah to James Odell Hansen and Belva Gillette Hansen. He married LaVon Duke August 8, 1955 in Victor, Idaho. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, spending time with his family, playing the harmonica and working with wood. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. He was known for always being kind and was loved by all who met him. Survived by his wife LaVon; his daughters Jackie Porter, Cindy Wilson, Sheri Hansen, Teri (Jeff) Cederholm, Heidi Hansen, Penny Poulson (Tyler); 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; his brother Darrell, sister LuAnne, sister Merilee, brother Ted and sister Vickie. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jimmy and Ed, sisters Marlene and Katherine, sons-in-law Steven Porter and Craig Peterson, brother-in-law Paul Maxfield, mother and father-in-law Bill and Verda Duke, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Afton Blanchard, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bud and Maxine Kohler. Private Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah, where there will be a visitation beginning at 12:30 pm.
