Ricky Matt Stripling, age 72, of Murchison, TX, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024. He was born on February 5, 1952, to Orth Phill Stripling and Lorene Bowman. Ricky was a loving husband to his wife D'Ann Stripling and a devoted father to his son Travis Stripling and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Stripling. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Spencer Callison, Shyanne White, and Braxton Stripling, as well as his numerous great-grandchildren. Ricky had a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. He had a knack for storytelling and would often share interesting facts and stories he had read or watched. Ricky loved making people smile and was always ready with a joke or a witty remark. He also enjoyed trying new recipes that he had come across. In his professional life, Ricky worked for many years at WC Supply. He was a skilled barber and also worked as an agricultural teacher. Ricky was dedicated to his work and took pride in his contributions. Ricky's hobbies included cooking on cast iron and experimenting with different recipes. He was actively involved in his community, participating in activities at Westwood Baptist Church and with the Callender Lake Homeowners Association. Ricky cherished spending time with his wife D'Ann, their beloved Doxies, and his great-grandchildren. Visitation for Ricky will be held on Thursday, February 15th, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Burks Walker Tippit. The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 16th, at 11:00 a.m. at Westwood Baptist Church. Ricky is preceded in death by his father Orth Phil Stripling, mother Lorene Bowman, Johnnie Stripling, and sister Phillys Stripling. He is survived by his wife D'Ann Stripling, sister Janette Tkach, son and daughter-in-law Travis and Elizabeth Stripling, grandchildren Spencer Callison, Shyanne White, and Braxton Stripling, and multiple great-grandchildren.
