Bio

Nola Maxine Gasser, 81 years, of Jay, Okla., passed away April 24, 2008, at Monroe Manor in Jay. Nola was born Aug. 18, 1926, to the late Sherman M. Loftis and Della (Kelly) Loftis in Southwest City, Okla. She spent her youth in Southwest City, where she attended Poynor School and later graduated from Jay High School. Nola was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, needlework and crocheting. She attended the First Christian Church in Commerce, Okla., before her illness. Nola was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Curtis and Loyd Loftis; and two sisters, Beulah Drake and Melba Peek. Nola is survived by two daughters, Patsy Hertenstein, of Springfield, Ohio, and Sandra Sprayberry, of Haysville, Kan.; a son, Donald Gasser, of Southwest City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Graveside funeral services for Nola Maxine Gasser will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, with Rev., Benny Lukens, officiating. The family will receive friends before the service on Monday from 12 p.m. until service time at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Mo. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City.
