Bio

Gertrude W. Crutchfield, 80, of Pensacola died Tuesday, April 2, 1996, at her home following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Crutchfield was bom May 9, 1915 and was a life long resident of Escambia County. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. For 23 years, she worked for Escambia County Food Services as a "Lunchroom Lady" at Brentwood Jr. High. She was a longtime member of Brentwood Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Gordon Crutchfield; her only son, Gordon Lamar Crutchfield and a great-grandson, Scott Ellis Collins. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Nell C. and Hosea W. Fitch, Jr., Mittie L. and Ronald C. Baker and Ernestine and Bob Hulsey; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-greatgrandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Clifton Hobbs and Pauline and Joe Pate; brother and sister-in-law, Jesse (Bud) and Eula M. White and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with the Reverends Dean Shumway, Jerry Dozier and Lonnie Penton officiating. Burial will be in Gonzalez United , Methodist Church Cemetery. . Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Senior Sunday School Class at Brentwood Assembly of God Church.
