Lisa Jayne West September 13, 1960 - December 27, 2022 Lisa Jayne West was born September 13, 1960 in Bryan, Texas. She went home to be with her heavenly father on December 27, 2022. She leaves behind son Beau West and wife Lindsey, granddaughters Brinley and Adalynn West, grandson Josh West and wife Maygan, great grandchildren Paxton and Madisyn West, nieces Eslin Mayfield and Tara Powers, and numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lisa was preceded in death by husband Gary West, mother Dale Sawyer, father Elton Powers, and brother Lane Powers, along with many aunts and uncles. Lisa worked in various positions at Wal-Mart for 20 years before retiring. However, she wasn't retired long before going to work at UTMB in accounting for another 20 years. She also worked proudly alongside Gary in her down time supporting his dream at West Tire and Auto. She took the motto "work hard, play hard" to heart and was always ready for an adventure after a long work day; whether that was taking her son and his friends out to ski White Rock Creek, going on a family trip, playing with her grandchildren, or simply getting in the kitchen to try out a newly discovered recipe. Lisa always lived with an attitude to seize the day and to be grateful to God to be on Earth to see another sunrise. She loved to try new things and truly enjoyed life with her family and friends. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Lisa knows how protective of her family she was, and how loyal she was to not only her family, but to the ones she loved. She was a fierce believer in Christ, family, and love. She could make you laugh with her witty humor or have a serious debate with you and make you laugh again, all in the span of one conversation. Lisa was a perpetual driving force in our lives that will not be replaced. Lisa supported numerous organizations and clubs throughout her life and loved giving back to the community. She firmly believed in supporting the youth in her community to see them grow and thrive. She was a huge supporter of St. Jude's Children Hospital. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be sent to St. Jude's in Lisa's name. This was an organization close to her heart. Matthew 11:28-30. "Come to me, all you who are weary or burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Pallbearers include: Drew Robb, Otti Thornton, Phillip Morrison, John Chamberlain, Don Thornton, and Jerry Price. Waller-Thornton Funeral Home - Trinity
