Bio

Randy S. Reed, 48, of West Columbia, Texas, passed away at home on October 1, 2009. A celebration of Randy's life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Columbia United Methodist Church. Randy was born in Rosenberg and grew up in Alvin, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982 and since then worked for Dow Chemical Co. as an engineer in various departments for the past 27 years. During his life he enjoyed sports and games, fishing, boating, hunting, playing tennis and golf, and traveling with his family. Randy especially loved theme parks and roller coasters. He enjoyed coaching youth sports and served on both the West Columbia Little League and Girls Softball Boards. He also served as an Assistant Scout Master for the local Boy Scouts. Randy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cindi Reed; his mother, Sally Mays; his father, Bill Reed and wife, Kathy; two children, Stephanie Elise Reed and Brad Alan Reed; his brother, Rhett Reed and his wife, Theresa; one sister, Robbe Reed Sebesta, and her husband, Paul; two nieces, Alex Reed and Misha Sebesta, and four nephews, Jones Reed, Jacob Sebesta, Jonathon Sebesta and Zachary Sebesta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Columbia United Methodist Church at 315 S. 16th St., West Columbia, TX 77486.
