Kenneth Harlan "Ken" Aulner Sr. Hastings resident Kenneth Harlan "Ken" Aulner Sr., 98, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his home. Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. and Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Janaury 9, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Father Craig Clinch officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 8, and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Morrison Cancer Center or Ken's family asks you to donate blood in his honor. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home's website. To view the service, go to Ken's obituary and click the play button shown towards the bottom of the page. Ken was born November 8, 1925 in Sious Falls, SD to John E. and Alta (Parks) Aulner. He graduated from high school. Ken served in the U.S. Army during World War II from February 1944 to May 1946 and during the Korean War from September 1950 to September 1951. He married Rogene M. McCoy on May 9, 1953; they were married for 70 years. Ken went into business with his two brothers for over 50 years with Aulner Ornamental Iron which later changed to Aulner Manufacturing. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Knights of Columbus. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ronald Aulner and Dale Aulner; daughter, Patti Wolzen; brother, John Aulner Jr.; sister, Virginia Aulner; granddaughter, Irish Aulner; brothers-in-law, Lyle Marion and Conrad Anderson; and sister-in-law, Jean Aulner.
