Bio

Marlene had had polio and was physically impaired (wheelchair-bound) but mentally sharp and socially active. She attended Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married William Thomas "Tom" Orton on August 18, 1963, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. The young couple lived in Syracuse, Nebraska, where Marlene taught school, and Tom continued his education at the University of Nebraska. She and her husband, Tom, lived at Pacific Springs Senior Living Community in Omaha for several years.
