Pamela Sue Jenness, 60, of Ravenna, Nebraska died on Friday, December 15, 2023, at her home. A celebration of life service will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna, Nebraska. Pam was born on March 11, 1963, in Fort Crook, Nebraska to Charles and Mary Ann (Szwanek) McCauley. She attended school in Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and Colorado. A story she liked to tell from growing up in Grand Island, was when the snowplows would make a big snow hill on Memorial Drive and the kids would play King of the Mountain. She said Tom Rathman, who played for the Huskers and then the 49ers, was the nicest boy and wouldn't just throw the girls down the mountain, he would slowly slide down with them. While living in Colorado, she met, married and later divorced Brian Jenness. They had three children Anthony Jenness, Angela Jenness, and Arron Jenness. She loved her kids dearly and loved them unconditionally. Once moving back to Nebraska with her three children, Pam worked hard as a waitress, bartender, factory worker, and even worked for a bridge crew. She was tough and did whatever it took to make sure her family was taken care of. She battled and fought her first round of cancer in 2004 and was given a second cancer diagnosis in 2023. She loved life and she loved her cats. She enjoyed feeding the birds, squirrels, and rabbits in her yard. She was a wonderful cook, plant guru, and a good listener. She was kind, brave, a survivor, and to her children a superhero. She is deeply missed and will forever be remembered for her witty remarks and when her voice no longer worked, flipping you the bird, sometimes two depending on how bad you messed up. She is survived by her sister: Deb and Mick McKeon (Ravenna, Nebraska). Children: Anthony Jenness (Ravenna, Nebraska), Angela Jenness (Grand Island, Nebraska), Arron Jenness (Ravenna, Nebraska). Niece: Christine (Bailey) and Simon Valderaz. Nephews: Nate and Misty Bailey (Grand Island, Nebraska), Jack Bailey (Grand Island, Nebraska). Aunt: Betty (Szwanek) Marshall (Ravenna, Nebraska). Cousin: Valerie (Limbach) and Greg DelaRosa (Ravenna, Nebraska). She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Ann McCauley, brother Randy McCauley, and Cousin Roger Limback.
