THE BRAZOSPORT FACTS (Clute, Texas) - Sun - 6 Aug 2006 Loyd Thomas Roberts entered into God's heaven on August 4, 2006. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jan Brooks Roberts; his beloved son, Sean Lee Roberts and wife, Kristen, and grandchildren of the Dallas area; step-children Robert Boyer of Sargent and Laurie Brooks of Houston; brother Cliff Roberts of St. Louis, Mo.; and sisters, Barbara Ann Taylor of Southlake and Jonnie Stark of Leander. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Thomas Roberts and Rosa Maxine Harrington.
He leaves behind many family members and friends throughout the United States. In his life, he made many friends while traveling all around the country. He was very proud of his Texas heritage and wore his "Native Texan" badge with honor. He graduated from West Columbia High School in 1968. After high school, he served four years in the U.S. Navy, honorably. Loyd also earned an associates degree from Houston Community College in mathematics. Loyd had various careers as an insurance salesman, chemical inspector and commercial fisherman. He loved the Texas Gulf Coast, and it was never far away from his heart when he was away. Loyd will be missed by many people that loved him very much.
A celebration of Loyd's life will be at First Baptist Church in Sargent, Texas, on August 7, 2006, at 1 p.m. All are invited. Arrangements are by Baker Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Drive, West Columbia, Texas.
