They had one son, born on February 6, 1937 in Houston, Texas. His name is shown on the Texas birth record as D.L. Jr. However, he went by L.D. L.D. married Wilma Jean Smith on October 19, 1973 in DeRidder, Louisiana. He died on September 27, 2020 in Dodge City, Kansas.
