Bio

At 9:04pm on November 25, 2023, Cynthia Renea "Cindy" Johnson Moore obtained her wings as she victoriously embraced immortality. Her journey complete, her battle won, and eternity began as she entered into the presence of the One she faithfully served. Home at last. Cindy made her grand entrance in the early morning hours on February 15, 1955 at the War Memorial Hospital in Leesville, LA. She was the third child of four, and the only daughter of Olea Ollie Haymon and Alton Ray "Happy" Johnson. She attended church before she was born and grew up knowing no other life. At Rosepine United Pentecostal Church under the pastorate of Rev. O.C. Dyess, Cindy received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at the tender age of seven. She was truly chosen and anointed by God. Her spiritual callings and gifts were evident by the age of eight when God used her in the prophetic for the first time. That was only the beginning, and God used her mightily for the next 60 years. Cindy was gifted musically, and at nine years old after only two lessons, she taught herself to play piano, organ, and later, the accordion by ear. From the inception of that musical gift, God allowed her to write, play, and sing countless songs. She was never prouder and would beam from the piano bench when she played for her two girls and husband. Such incredible, God-given talent. Cindy graduated from Rosepine High School in May 1976, and later continued her education to become a realtor. She was a successful real estate agent and became the broker owner of her own Century 21 franchise in Leesville, LA. Like so many of her kin, she could sell anything! She was a negotiator extraordinaire, and there was never a deal she could not make just a little bit sweeter. She was never afraid to ask for a better price from a garage sale, estate sale, or even Dillard's department store, and she always succeeded. Yes, even at Dillard's. It was less about the item and more about the thrill of the deal and the high of the hunt. This love of haggling resulted in collections upon collections upon collections. You name it, she had three. In 1972, she met the man who would one day change her last name. Bobby Joe Moore won big when the blonde piano player from Faith Tabernacle said yes. In a small church decorated with her colors of red, black, and white, the two became one on October 26, 1973. This wedding date was no accident as it was the same date her Mama and Daddy married in 1946. This year, they celebrated their milestone golden anniversary of 50 years. On May 13, 1975, Cindy and Bobby welcomed blonde, curly haired Krista Renea, and on January 14, 1981, their family became complete when a second beauty Amber Nicole was born. Cindy was adored by all and answered to many names – Mama, Granny, Gran, Cin (but only by her mother), Mama C, Aunt Cindy, and Sis. Cindy. Her genuine connections with people were unmatched, and she lived to pour into others. She loved to give - advice, a prophetic word, a scripture, direction, fudge, brownies, or something in your favorite color or collection. She gave it all, and she rarely left home without a backseat full of over-the-top wrapped gifts ready for delivery. It was always a fun surprise to rip off the paper to find she'd wrapped the treasure in a box once used for Little Debbie fudge rounds or Quaker grits. She was all things pink, soft, and lacey, and she always smelled of Estee Lauder Pleasures – her signature scent. She dressed to impress and brought the party wherever she went. She never left home without shoulder pads. In fact, she had a couple sets to wear at home depending on the need of the day, even if it was just a day spent in pajamas. Cindy was an amazing cook, and you can rest assured every dish had a dash or a cup of sugar. She was a woman of many words. Her texts were often short novels sprinkled with at least 15 emojis, and she could drag out a story like no other. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to fill her passport with stamps from around the world as she and Bobby explored the globe and lived their dream. She had a love and appreciation of angels and experienced many visitations throughout her life. She understood the veil between this world and the other is paper thin, and she welcomed messengers from heaven with excitement and an open spirit. She treasured the Word of God and had many favorite scriptures. Matthew 6:33 was one she loved most. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you." She lived it out completely and desires that we all do the same. Oh, what a lady! Oh, what a life. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 50 years, Bobby Joe Moore, her daughter, Krista Bursh and son-in-law, Zeno, of Omaha, Nebraska and Amber Logan and son-in-law, Harvey, of League City, Texas. Her children gave her the best gifts of all…her three grandsons! Koby, Zachary, and Henry each carry just a little bit of their Granny in them. She is survived by her oldest brother, Harold Ray Johnson and sister-in-law, Glenda, of Ragley, LA and her baby brother, Bobby Lee Johnson of Shreveport, LA. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Grace Johnson, of Anacoco, LA. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Gale Watson, of Merryville, La. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and church members. Waiting for her just inside heaven's pearly gates were her Mama and Daddy, her mother and father-in-law, Edna Cassels and Hugh Lloyd Moore, her second grandson, Joshua Bursh, and her brother, Alton Randolph "Randy" Johnson. Should heaven have a living room with an old upright piano, they are all there now, drinking strong coffee with heavy whipping cream and sugar, listening to her play as only she can, waiting for us all. Visitation will be at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00am Friday, December 1st at The Church Triumphant, 1030 Strawberry Road, Pasadena, TX 77506. Her pastor, Rev Jason Sciscoe will officiate. Pall bearers will be her grandsons, Koby, Zachary and Henry; her sons-in-law, Zeno and Harvey; her dear friend, Jose Herrera. Forest Park East Cemetery will house her earthly shell, and a private burial will be Saturday, December 2nd. She now resides in a land fairer than day, in a place where tears never stain those golden streets, in a city where the Lamb is the light, in a place where joy shall never end. Her feet have reached Beulah Land. Her faith ended as her last fleeting breath was drawn, and her address changed as she stepped into her heavenly home. I can just picture the party that greeted Cindy as she walked through the pearly gates. I am sure she arrived with perfect hair, a fabulous pair of sunglasses, an outfit that included sequins, and an arm full of door prizes. Won't we have a time when we get over yonder? One sweet day.
