Memorial services for Ronald "Ron" Patocka, 64, of Norfolk will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. He died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at his home. Ronald Joseph Patocka was born March 20, 1943, in David City to Mamie (Fiedler) and Otto Patocka. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in David City. He served in the National Guard in the early 1960s. In 1967, he married Donna Bayer. On March 7, 1987, he married Delores Uttecht Moore in Norfolk. In 1980, he purchased the Lazy L Cafeteria, later changing the name to the Ranch Cafe. He enjoyed his business of 27 years, especially the customers who were there daily or at least on a regular basis. On July 21, he closed the Ranch Cafe doors for the last time to begin his retirement. At home he enjoyed his computer, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, extended family and special friends. He is survived by his wife, Delores; daughter, Hayley and Tony Jelinek of Kearney; son, Russell and Michelle of Phoenix, Ariz.; three stepchildren, Deb Givler of Phoenix, Dan and Nancy Moore of Norfolk and Diane Moore of Omaha; and eight grandchildren, Ehan and Bodhi Jelinek, Lola Patocka, Jerric and Justin Givler, Ashlea Moore and her fiance, Jason Smith, and Brittany and Jaden Moore. He is also survived by five brothers, Duane of Pennsylvania, Lloyd and Linda of Columbus, Ricky of Lincoln, Paul and Deb of Columbus, Danny of Omaha, and two sisters, Connie and Larry Gaskill of Lincoln and Karen Hoffman of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janice, brother Gary and stepson-in-law Chris Givler. Father Walter Nolte will be the celebrant. St. Mary's Catholic Church is located at 2400 Madison Ave.
