Dorothy Vivian Tipton, age 93, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 in Austin, Texas. She was born August 7, 1930 to parents, Robert J. Ryan and Bettie Stanfield Ryan in Crockett. Dorothy had a successful career at Baker Oil Tools in Houston, followed by a stint raising son, Jim, and then held numerous office manager roles before joining husband Charles to travel and explore. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and aunt who lived to serve others, take care of people, make sure you ate, and bake things for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 72 years, Charles Tipton; parents, Robert and Bettie Ryan; stepfather, Lang Barnes; and brothers, Gordon and Clifford Barnes. Funeral services for Dorothy Vivian Tipton will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Tom Ainsworth officiating.
