Oklahoman, The (Oklahoma City, OK) - Tuesday, November 7, 2023 Billie Charleston passed away at Mercy Hospital on November 1 at the age of 96. A lifelong Oklahoman, she was born in Duncan to Leona Ivy and A.P. Burns, married Gilbert M (Choc) Charleston and raised two sons in Duncan and Oklahoma City. With her husband she shared proprietorship of first Antique Alley and then the Choctaw Trading Post. Among her volunteer activities, she served as treasurer of Mary Lee Clark church in Oklahoma City. Billie is survived by her husband Choc, her son Bishop Steven Charleston with his wife Susan, daughter-in-law Karen; three grandsons Simeon Oshan, Steven Tonstobi, and Nicholas Tecumseh with his wife Chanel, and two great grandchildren: Silas and Celine. Services will include immediate family at a future date. Billie's ashes will be interred in the family plot in the Duncan cemetery.
