Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home In Memory Of William "Fred" Tetschner, age 86, of Miles City July 15, 1937 – November 7, 2023 , Age 86 Husband, Dad, Grandfather, and great grandfather was called by the Lord early morning November 7th at Holy Rosary Hospital with his wife by his side. Fred was born July 15, 1937 in Sheridan, WY to Dudley and Lela (Wyrick) Tetschner. He was raised by Bill and Frances Wyrick in Rosebud, MT, where he also attended school. During this time, he met Marjorie Sleaford, marrying her in 1958. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage and 5 children. He joined the US Army in 1955 and received his GED. He served in the 8th Infantry Golden Arrow Division in Fort Carson, CO where he became a US Army Spec 4. He was stationed with the US Army in Illinois and was honorably discharged in 1958. Upon discharge he worked various jobs in Illinois. In 1970 Fred and Marjorie moved to Helena, MT. He attended Helena Vocational Center and received a diploma in industrial Electronics and Consumer Electronics. During his schooling he owned and restored many rental properties. Upon graduation he was employed with TCI Communications. In 1980 he was transferred to Miles City, MT until 1990 when they moved to Morrison, CO. Here he worked and attended Gun Smithing School in Denver, Co. Upon retirement in 1993 they moved back to Miles City, MT and opened and operated rental properties and his own gun shop. Fred was a guy with many talents that he freely shared with others. Those who were privileged to know him were blessed. One of his shining talents was his favorite hobby, growing his own garden. Fred was most known for his pumpkin patch, selling many pumpkins each fall. Fred is survived by his loving wife Marjorie Tetschner, daughter Sherry (Robert) HoChee, Son Ron Tetschner and daughter Shelma (Gary) Erikson, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sons Doug and Marvin Tetschner, sister Marjorie Yonkaitis, and brother Robert Tetschner. If desired, memorials may be made in honor of Fred to a charity of one's choice. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10:00 am at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the family plot in Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, MT. Following the interment a reception will be held at the VFW.
