Lou Ann (Fain) Terry went to her heavenly home on October 27, 2023, in Jacksonville, Texas, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by loved ones and peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus. Ann, also known as Mother, Grandmother and Aunt Lou, was born on April 14, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Edger and Myrtle Fain. She was one of six children and grew up with meager resources but a huge heart. On June 17, 1966, Ann married Arthur Ray Terry and they raised four children together. The couple moved to Jacksonville in 1979, where they immediately joined Friendship Baptist Church in the Corine community. Ann worked hard her entire life and was dedicated to any job she held. She served for 25 years with Jacksonville I.S.D., where she was lovingly known as the sweetest lunch lady around. During her career, she always looked after her grandkids by giving them extra money for brownies and anything else they wanted. She loved her church, her grandkids, and her "great-grands," but most of all, she loved Jesus. Ann was selfless in the most abundant of ways and knew how to love and serve others. She was always willing to look after anyone and frequently made trips to nursing homes. She took exceptional care of the Corine Cemetery and volunteered for many years to ensure the upkeep of the gravesites. She was loved by all who knew her, but also not afraid to speak her mind. Ann is survived by her children: Wayne Busby of Jacksonville; Mike Terry and wife, Carla, of Bullard; and Betty Haptonstall of Wills Point; grandchildren: Brandon Haptonstall and wife, Laurie, of Rockwall; Brittany Deen and husband, Jeff, of Plano; Megan Riaz and husband, Jamil, of Tyler; Kristin Klesitz and husband, Brett, of Tyler; Lindsey Ayers and husband, Michael, of Grapevine; Shayla Hill, of Jacksonville; and Cheyenne Busby of Longview. Great-grandchildren: Carson Riaz, Jadin Riaz, Maya Lou Riaz, Mason Dean Hatch, Madison Rae Rials, Ellie LeeAnn Deen, Blakely Klestiz, Miles Klesitz, Asher Klesitz, Wyatt Klesitz, Lucas Ayers, and Zoey Ayers; and her brother: Paul Fain. Ann is preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Myrtle Fain; husband, Ray Terry; sister Sandra Peugh, brothers Akin Loyd Fain, James Edger Fain, John David Fain, Dennis Fain; and son-in-law Brett Haptonstall. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31, at 1:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, with graveside services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Corine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Corine Cemetery or Friendship Baptist Church.
