Married to Carol J. Sports Section - Former Nebraska All-Big Seven guard Don Strasheim died Saturday while attending the Nebraska-Oklahoma football game at Memorial Stadium. Strasheim, 59, was one of the keys to springing All-American running back Bobby Reynolds loose on his record runs. Strasheim was an assistant Nebraska football coach from 1952 to 1959 under coaches Bill Glassford, Pete Elliot and Bill Jennings. He also served as NU wrestling coach in 1955-1956. The Kimball native, who began his college career as a fullback at Nebraska, also was a sportswriter for The Lincoln Star in the early 1950s. He later entered private business and at the time of his death was owner of Professional Business Services, a Lincoln accounting firm. Strasheim's son, John, letter in football at Nebraska in 1987. In addition to John, Strasheim is survived by three other sons, Tom, Steve and James; a daughter, Ann, and his wife, Carol. He is survived by his mother, a brother and a sister.
