Lieutenant Colonel Elwood H. Paradowski, Retired, was born on July19,1928 in Goose Creek, Texas. He went to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 10, 2023 at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife of 71 years,Gladys Paradowski, his daughter Marilyn Nowlin, his son Kenneth Paradowski, his grandson Bryan and wife Angela Huie, and great-grandchildren Lillian and Ethan Huie. Elwood loved anything military. Books, movies, magazines - it didn't matter as long as it was military. He joined the Civil Air Patrol when he was in High School. Then he joined the United States Air Force Reserves as an enlisted man, as it was transitioning from the Army Air Corps. He served from 1945 to 1975. Elwood's daily job was as a Certified Purchasing Manager for the Randolph Company, an oil field parts supplier. He worked there for 50 years. Elwood had a strong belief in God. His preferred faith was Baptist. Over the years, he was a Sunday School teacher, a Royal Ambassadors leader and a Deacon. Elwood loved his family with all his heart. He spent a lot of time with his family. He enjoyed packing everyone in a station wagon and driving around the country to show them how beautiful it was. Anyone who met Elwood admired him, he was that kind of person. Even his caretakers at the end were fond of him. He was very loved and will be very much missed. Woodlawn Funeral Home
