Paula Rae Kriz, 68 of Lincoln, passed away October 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. Paula was born on November 4, 1954, in David City to John and Millie (Grossnicklaus) Behrns. She attended David City St Mary's elementary school and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1973. Paula moved to Lincoln and started working at Ameritas Life Insurance. Paula married Dennis Kriz on August 4, 1979 at Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln. Paula loved spending time with her family, friends and enjoyed being outdoors whether that be sitting on her patio or mowing the lawn. Paula retired from Ameritas in 2021 after 48 years. Paula is survived by her husband, Dennis of Lincoln, children Angie (Matt) Klein of Waukee, Iowa, Ryan Kriz (Megan) of Omaha, Jonathan Kriz (Morgan) of Fontanelle, Zachary Kriz of Lincoln, siblings: Judy Puetz of Columbus, Pat (Suzi) Behrns of Blair, Barb (Dave) Fry of Greenville, Texas, Rick (Cindy) Behrns of Omaha, Lisa Behrns of Garland, Texas and Beth Behrns of Garland, Texas and sister-in-law Donna Behrns of David City. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: William, Charlotte, Eden and Walker along with many nieces and nephews. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law Margaret and Ray Kriz, brother Mike Behrns and brother-in-law Jim Puetz. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Cathedral of the Risen Christ Catholic Church, 3500 Sheridan Blvd in Lincoln with Monsignor Daniel Seiker celebrating the Mass.
